Our Story
At MaherNinnis Basketball, we are driven by a passion for the game and a commitment to developing young talent. Founded by South Australian basketball legends Brett Maher and Scott Ninnis, we proudly bring over 60 years of combined professional basketball experience to the court. Our mission is to provide exceptional training opportunities that not only enhance essential skills and fundamentals but also inspire a lifelong love for the game.

Meet Brett and Scott
Brett Maher and Scott Ninnis are not just icons of South Australian basketball; they are best mates who share a vision of nurturing the next generation of athletes. Both proud South Australians, they have dedicated their lives to the sport, amassing numerous accolades and championships along the way.
Brett Maher
From his early days at the Sturt Sabres Basketball Club to becoming a three-time Olympian representing Australia, Brett has competed against the likes of LeBron James and other international stars. His journey to becoming a three time championship player for the Adelaide 36ers showcases his commitment and talent, making him a revered figure in Australian basketball and arguably South Australia's best basketballer.
Scott Ninnis
Scott's passion for basketball was inherited from his father, a member of the great South Adelaide Basketball Club's championship teams of the 60s. He boasts an impressive playing and coaching resume, including 5 NBL Championships, 1 SEABL Championship, and 7 State League/NBL1 Championships. Scott is the only player or coach to have been part of all four Adelaide 36ers NBL Championships, solidifying his status as a South Australian basketball icon.

Club and School Visits
We offer one-day visits to basketball clubs and schools, where Brett and Scott will work directly with players to enhance their skills and provide coaching tips for ongoing development.
Public Speaking Opportunities
In addition to coaching, Brett and Scott engage audiences with inspiring talks about their experiences, covering topics like leadership, motivation, and the importance of teamwork.
